Protecting Your Heart: A Reminder for Mothers to Be Still and Listen to God 💕

Protecting Your Heart: A Reminder for Mothers to Be Still and Listen to God 💕
Motherhood is beautiful, but let’s be honest—it’s also noisy. From the moment we wake up, our minds are flooded with schedules, responsibilities, and the endless needs of our children. In the midst of all this, it can be so easy to lose our connection to God’s voice.
Lately, I’ve felt the need to step back. To be still. To quiet the outside noise so I can hear God more clearly. As moms, we spend so much time pouring into our children, our homes, and even our work, but how often do we pause to allow God to pour into us?
What We Consume Shapes Our Hearts
I’ve realized that what we read, watch, and listen to matters. The world constantly feeds us its customs, ideologies, and expectations—many of which contradict the truth of God’s Word. And if we’re not careful, those messages start to blend together, creating confusion in our hearts and homes.
Have you ever found yourself questioning if you’re doing enough as a mother? Or comparing your life to the curated perfection on social media? It happens to all of us. But those doubts and insecurities often stem from the noise around us rather than the truth within us.
Making Space for God to Speak
It’s not about ignoring what’s happening around us, but recognizing that sometimes, we need to be intentional about pulling away. Not because we don’t care about the world, but because we care too much about what God is doing in us and through us.
For what God is doing in you next, you may need this moment of stillness. A time to reset, to protect the word He’s placing in your heart, and to allow Him to guide your steps.
Encouragement for the Moms Who Feel Overwhelmed
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or disconnected, I encourage you to take a step back. Give yourself permission to rest in His presence. Whether it’s waking up a little earlier for quiet time, turning off the background noise during your daily routine, or simply pausing to pray in the middle of a chaotic day—let God speak to you.
Your role as a mother is sacred, but your personal relationship with God is just as important. And when we make room for Him, we become better mothers, better wives, and better women.
